Their Story

# How it happened I grew up transient with my mom until she was murdered...

in California when I was 11. I was put in a group home and ran away at 12, hitch-hiked to NY, to go to my dad who I hadn’t seen since I was 8 months old. When I got there he told me I wasn’t going to live with him for free so he started pimping me out & having me sell drugs & guns for him. I was born on the streets & raised on them. I’m still trying to figure out how I got on them myself. # Where I want to be I want to travel and do spoken word across the states. I want to be published one day so my poetry will affect millions, plus some. 😊💕😊When I’m settled down later in life I want to finish my degree in Child Psychology & be a foster parent for “high-risk youth”. # What I need to get there I need: God, housing, transportation, a support system, EMDR therapy, knowledge, and resources. # Skills / Facts I’m good with computers, writing, animals, and kids but, I’m not sure what exactly job skills look like. # Interests/ Hobbies I love reading, writing, the ocean, writing letters traveling, spending time with my nieces and nephews, spoken word & poetry. I love going to open 🎤 (mic) nights & watching Ted Talks. I’m passionate about fairness, sticking up for the underdog, loving God, learning new things & meeting all kinds of people. I'm not an artist but I like doing arts & crafts! Michaels is one of my favorite stores.

These are our neighbors

During this unprecented time, it's never been more important to help them find a safe, stable, supportive place to sleep at night.

We find that when we wrap a social home around someone, they gain the capacity to often find the physical home soon after.

You are invited to join one or many who seek to find a home this year.

The number one question I'm asked, is " Jeff, how do I respond when asked for help on the street? Samaritan is an answer to that question.

This is the first time in seven years people have seen me for who I am, not what I look like or come from.

Thanks to samaritans for checking up on and feeding me… Don’t know how I would have ate or kept warm many nights without you.

Sometimes, you can feel really invisible and it can kind of feel al lot of times like there's no help out there. It was just nice to have people be like "Yea, we really want to help."
